​Meet Andra,

an artist trained as an actor in Romania,

graduated director and producer in London,

dancer everywhere she goes and

a witness of the world who writes about love.

CHILDHOOD  

   

 The childhood as she remember was a time of play with her grandparents, sky and ice-skate with her dad, some stolen forbidden kisses at the kindergarten and a lot of mercy towards the bullied kids. Being a kid in Bucharest, Pantelimon where the drugs, gypsies and clans were at their best times wasn't necessary the best place to grow up. Her family did their very best to keep her away from all the underground mysterious jobs that were happening in the neighbourhood so they fulfilled her program with lots of fun and interactive activities. The most beautiful aspect of all this was that she choose all the activities she wanted to try, being extremely supported by her family.

Firstly she tried sports like karate and ballet, but ageing forward she shifted to other sports like swimming, basketball, tenis and horse riding.. Her path into the art sector started early in life with an urge to study violin. Therefore she discovered viola and piano when she was 8 and while her skill was evolving, she was singing at the Music school no.5, Bucharest she was singing with the choir. Soon she added the ballroom dance training into her program. Until she started her college where she became bilingual in Spanish and Romanian, she continued her dance and instrument practice every single day for over 8 years. But this wasn't enough, along with it she started painting lessons in the weekend bringing her artistic eye even more developed than before. The love for the arts won in front of anything else so she continued all her life to dance and sing.

​TEENAGER 

In 2015 she started her journey in the theatre industry. A rebel teenager, in love with philosophy, mad about how the system works, but still extremely emphatic towards the ones that were unfortunate. She was part of the biggest private acting school of Bucharest, Victory of Art, where she learned everything from theatre history, play writers, acting techniques and styles, to theatre production and theatre festivals management. Her talent was soon recognise by the professionals all over Romania winning many prizes at theatre festivals for Best Body Movement, Special Prize for acting at the The International Theatre Festival 'Child in Europe', Timisoara and much more. Her dance passion transferred quickly into the theatre stage making the most of it by performing in several musicals and original physical performances like RE-EVOLUTION. Her curious nature brings so much depth to the shows she performs in owing to the fact that she is using great skill and intelligence over text analysis, and psychological journey of the characters making all her performances feeling organic and true.  Using techniques of Stanislavsky's, Michael Chekov's, Meisner's or Bella Merlin she mirrors the character she is playing to herself bringing the authenticity glance.

YOUNG ADULT

​

As much as she loves to be on stage, she adores to be on front of the camera. Her talent is present on set giving proof of endurance, and patience. One of her last short films she was part of gained multiple nomination, among which she won the prize of Best Leading Actress at the DVMission Festival. Projects like music videos, commercials and short films are the ones that dominated her time while she was living in London.

Her experience on and off stage made her to produce and direct her own ideas. The path she took in the beginning of her directing studies and practice was rooted in contemporary dance and special effects, bringing light to dilemmas of modern society and basic philosophical questions. Between them, the most significant and yet successful pieces were an interpretation of "QUAD" by Samuel Beckett, and an original creation of hers intituled "RE-EVOLUTION" 1 and 2 which most probably will be restage in the year 2025.

 

WHO IS SHE NOW?

The empathy she owns towards people and art is heart warming, navigating through the production process with care and professionalism her work creates beautiful memories to people who are around her.. After 10 years of absorbing information, practicing, meeting lots of people from around the world she finally is ready to share everything with you.
